CHART

At CHART ART FAIR Helsinki Contemporary has the pleasure to present three up and coming Finnish artists, who have already gained an international carreer: Eeva-Riitta Eerola, Hannaleena Heiska and Tuomas A. Laitinen.

The combination of the works reveals three paths into the themes of spatiality, questions of time and space and perception and senses. At the same time the pieces open an aesthetic dialogue with each other.

Eeva-Riitta Eerola works with oil on canvas. In her new works she continues to examine our experience of spatiality and the concepts of perception as well as different textures and materials. The tone and feeling, textures and materials are central in Eerola’s works.

Hannaleena Heiska has recently worked with charcoal on paper. The recent series deals with questions of science, artificial intelligence, time and space, the future, and the possibility of life after death. The artist works in many different media from painting to drawing, installation and video.

Tuomas A. Laitinen is always keen on finding new ways of expression. The new glass works examines how the use of particular materials transmits the human sensorial experience of the world and affects the ways in which we are able to perceive and relate to our environment. The video installation Thicket is a brand new concept for displaying video art with a fixed structure.

In addition to these three artists, Helsinki Contemporary's represented artist Hans Rosenström's work Off Seasons is part of the CHART Special Art Program.
