Helsinki Contemporary presents a booth curated around contemporary representations of the human figure with works by three Finnish artists: Emma Ainala, Ville Andersson and Emma Sarpaniemi.
The three artists’ works are centered around the human figure, be it in the form of self-portraiture or explorations of portraiture, representations of gender, or ethereal minimalism. The concept of the gaze is always interwoven with the matter of representation, and it is also pervasive in many of the works on display.
